A little water and cleaning products will go a long way. I never shined my engine bay up...but merely sprayed cleaner on ..then hosed off.

See my moms truck is similar, under the hood it will get dirty, but I usually clean it once in a while. If I didnt, my dad might, but he doesnt go to all the time of drying then CD2 lol.
