Mah GXP "Scarlett"
I *LOVE* my new car (05 GXP.) I really do. It didn't start off that way, but I love driving it, and I love how it looks. I bought it after a six month effort to buy (at a decent price) a VW Phaeton W12 4 seat. CarMax had had this unit on their website for months, and they had just discounted the price sharply (back in Dec. 06.)
After my room mate backed into my 98 Riviera, I called CarMax, found out that this GXP was still on their lot, drove up there, unloaded the Riviera (Ruby) and loaded up the GXP (which was promptly named Scarlett.)
After having my heart set on the W12 Phaeton (which is an awesome car) this was something that "would do," and met my normal car buying standard of American, full-sized, loaded, low miles, half price.
Just over the last few weeks, I have truly fallen for this GXP. It makes me smile. Finding this online club has greatly increased my enjoyment, as I fantasize about installing a Delphi in-dash nav system, new speakers, and cracking the code for putting in a 12 disc CD changer.
Yesterday, as I was walking out to the car (the second day this week that I was the first one in the office and the last to leave..) I noticed how great it looked - and so I hauled out the digicam and took a few pictures. The pictures didn't do what I had seen justice, and now I want a better digicam. Of course.
She looks DAMNED good. A guy in a Dodge Charger with 22s stopped me the other day at an intersection and was gushing about my GXP. In these pictures, she'* got a light coat of pollen, brake dust on the front wheels, and water spots on the glass and she still looks DAMNED good.
Sort of like her name sake (different spelling) coming down the stairs in a dress made from draperies.

Very nice GXP. It is amazing how catching your car at the right angle kind of stops you in your tracks and makes you proud.
Glad to see you've found that "special something" that all true Bonne lover'* find. It may not be the car for everyone, but those of us that have discovered it, are very lucky, indeed.
