I ordered the same but I think I got ripped, they came in a little tiny box with no name...

I'm not sure if they are the same or not but they are the same size and when I try them in front of the HID, they have the same effect, the horizontal line.

I was wondering why in the housing half of the opening is covered.
Its like the bulb, and then the light only shines threw half of the opening befer it gets to the projector, the other half is covered by metal, Is that how I should keep it?

I am guessing that you are talking about the cutoff shield. Which is what give the projector is flat line on the top.

pictures are worth a 1000 words here.

sounds like it, my bulbs definately had "luminics" printed on both the box and the bulbs themselves

which side goes up?

can you take some pictures of those with and w/o the reflector bowls. (be careful not to touch the inside of the reflector bowls (the chrome surface) as they are fragile)
