Impala Injured
Well after owning the car for a month and two weeks I rear-ended someone. I was driving in Minneapolis when all of sudden the truck in front of me comes to a dead stop, I slam on the brakes and swirve to the left a bit but unfortunely it was too late, his trailor hitch in my right headlight. The driver drove away like nothing happened, although his vehicle looked untouched Im in the process of some repairs. Since I bought the car I wanted to put smoothie bumpers and the suncoast ram air hood on it, so I guess now is a great time to do it, hehe. Later that day I got a used core support and headlight assembly for $45. The core support I stripped to bare metal, sealed it, primered it and painted it. At the price Im paying out of pocket to do the repairs myself its not worth getting my insurance involved, $500 + higher rates, no thank you!
List of new parts:
Headlight Assembly - $21
Core Support - $21
Hood - $1000
Bumpers Front / Rear - $300
Grille - $50
Right Fender - $80
Total - $1472
Hood Ill be getting.

That really sucks man. Guess you are right, on it being the right time to get the smoothie and ram air hood. Look at it on the bright side. You aren't hurt, your car isn't totaled, and it is the perfect time for some exterior mods.

Yup, just a matter of a little body work, not too extensive though. I worried if I did total it how my insurance would go about, insurance companies tend to be pretty stupid about things. The car is listed under chevrolet caprice "Impala Package" so I could so see an insurance company trying to give only $2-3k for it, haha. Although if someone hit me where it wasnt my fault and total the car out I would be tremendously sadden, but on the other hand all the impalas locally are going for $11-16k so I would make pretty good profit off of it.
