There used to be 2, one said SONY, and the other says Flowmaster, i got it made at a local sticker shop. I took the sony one off just cause it'* basically an invitation for a robber.

How does that climate control work? Do you have any blinking temperature lights? Can you select the different modes ok?

How i wish i could say it works completly fine, but it doesn't. I can select the differant modes, but when you select it to blow from the vents at you, it blows from the vents that go on your legs. If you select a bi-level then it blows from below and very minimal from the vents at you. Other than that if you select the vents for the window or the legs it works fine. The only way the air conditioning works is if you put it on AUTO, if you hit the A/C button it doesn't work. But that'* how the old one was to. The air recurculation button doesn't work. THe temperature lights don't blink and work fine. If i put it on auto it does everything the origional one does. So why do i still have this one in, because i can change the modes, it is a very minimal differance but sometimes having the option of some heat blowing on your hands is good. So the only thing is that i have 2 useless buttons, the A/C button and the air recurculation buttom. I guess in the 1996 the vents were routed differantly, or maybe by chance i bought this one and it'* broken, i got it off ebay for 15 dollars. So no big loss. I can't really understand why Gm made the ones they did from 1990 to 1995, they should have always had the option to select AUTO and where you want it to blow from. I think it'* kinda stupid.

Right, the first generation was 88-94. In 95 they added a mode system and a few other options like controllable recirculation.

The reason why yours does not have full functionality is because you have a programmer from a 1994 Bonneville. The 95-99 programmer is designed for all of the features on the 95-99 control. So the control head you have is not 100% compatible with the programmer in your car.
