Etch primer, You should be able to pick it up at most any (or all) auto body stores. What the etching primer does is prevent rust significantly and also gives your regular primer a much better surface to stick to. Regular auto primer has a hard time adhering to bare metal surfaces thats why its always good to etch it first.

Also when you have two metal surfaces you etch both the inner sides (where the two peices of metal meat) before you tack weld it.

we plan on spraying it a grey that looks like the regular color after we prime it. it should look like nothing happened after it was all done. it should be running the next time we work on it, but we will see how lazy we get since it will be so nice up here that we wont wanna work STAY TUNED!

Cool. Did you have a body shop mix the paint for you or did you go somewhere else to get that done?

Definitely coming along good there.
Took me awhile to get my 1994 SLE together when I first bought it (damaged from hitting deer). Taking me longer since I hit two deer back in September -have pretty much gotten everything but the drivers headlamp (had been borrowing my brother'* but had to put it back on his 1992 SSE before he sold it).

I have to admit, you have alot more to do than I did either time. You'll be proud and protective when she'* together no doubt.
