Getting Trixie ready for a road trip...
Ok, I don't normally name vehicles, but the 90 Bonneville got christend "Trixie" by my wife and daughter, so I guess I'll just roll with it. (Name comes from the car'* original owner, my Aunt Trixie.)
Anywho, spend the weekend getting her ready for my road trip to Duluth, GA on Monday.
Yesterday was all the mods: Added a transmission cooler, changed the transmission fluid and filter, added a 180 degree t-stat, cleaned the MAF and de-screened it, changed the oil and added a K&N airfilter to it. Rest was routine maintenance checks on the suspension, tires, fluids, etc. Car is now at the 42,000 mile mark.
Today was just a wash and wax while doing laundry and getting packed for the trip. First time trying out this Liquid Glass stuff. (Always been a paste-wax sortta guy)
So, here'* what she looks like. Got her new kicks on the rear axle (still need to finish one more rim before having another pair of crosslaces on the front axle.)

Temps were also pretty good. An indicated 120 the whole trip on a 90 degree high humidity day with the AC running the whole way. That'* about 20 degrees cooler than before changing the stat.
Well, time to call it quits for the night. Maybe I can sneak onto the track at Road Atlanta for a few laps

Back from the trip. Car ran great all the way home, no issues. Temps stayed right on the 120 indicated tick all the way home.
Only bad part was being used as a taxi for the rest of the tech'* in the class. Most of the rest of the people who went to the class flew into Atlanta..."Hey Curt, can you give me a lift to ....." Which included taking two of them, and their bags, and dropping them off at Atlanta Hartsfield on the way home (Packed like sardines into the Bonnie)
