wilwren, Was wondering if Lilpooky would like to try this on for size? This F-16 was sitting in front of our maintance hanger this morning when I went to the airport. They are having an airshow today. Took my 92 Bonnie for a "test drive" yesterday. Did a round trip from Binghamton to Albany NY about 300 miles. The car purred like a kitten over and back. I beleive I am sold on the Bonneville. One of these days I am going to (the boneyard).Have always wanted to visit that place.

Aviator....I'm a die-hard phantom nut, but the Falcon is cool too. I got to work on an F-15 once when it had a little generator problem. I was the only one around even remotely familiar with it. The Eagle has some similarities to the phantom.

If you ever decide to go to that boneyard, I'll do my damndest to meet you there. I've got some old friends in storage.

OOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I am drooling all over this keyboard..
Those are some sweet machines.
Reminds me of the airshow in Duluth, MN back in 1986-87 when I was 5 or 6 yo. There was a Concorde there, a few F-16'*, and quite a few other sweet rides.
Another slick machine -and by slick I mean SLICK- is the Stelth bombers that I've seen coming in for landings at the Air Force Base in Grand Forks, ND. I couldnt see them or hear them, but happened to to be looking up in the sky when one flew over at about 4-500 feet and I could only see it for a couple seconds.
I have never flown, but my best friend is going to the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks to be a pilot (I forget what the program is called) and he going into his 3rd year there. We are going to rent a pane next week (one of those $70-an-hour specials) next week sometime and he is going to take me flying -maybe I'll see if I can get an airborne shot of my Bonneville on the ground when we take off or land.

Martin, You will really enjoy going up for a plane ride with your friend. I was a Flight Instructor for six years before getting on with USAirways Express. I guess I taught over 100 students to learn to fly and enjoyed every minute of it. I guess you will be going up in a C172.

MOS95B, My brother flew Huey'* with the 1st AirCav in Danang back in 67-68. We were both stationed in Danang at the same time but I was on patrol boats.

The ones I worked on were Vietnam era, but I'm not quite that old myself (Only 38, Desert Storm Vet).

I got to do a lot of flying (passenger) in Hueys, tho, being in an Air Cav unit, actually managed to talk a pilot into letting me get some stick time, too.

Then I joined the real Army, and got stuck being an MP. Almost 15 years active, and maybe 3 hours in any helicopters. Bummer

I did get to see an F15 nice and close up once, tho. Flying From Ft Carson back to Ft Hood, we made a stop at an airbase in the Dallas area.
