Exhaust tips, underhood tid bits
Haven't posted pictures in awhile. Broke an exhaust tip off a couple weeks ago so i went the dual/dual route and picked up some stainless tips off ebay and had them put on last week. Pardon the dirty car, the pictures are a week or so old and winter isn't quite over in Illinois.
Second, I've had a little downtime lately... but not enough downtime all at once to get my PEM'* installed so i've done a few cosmetic underhood things. I really liked my Belden wires but don't really like the "Belden Blue". Solution, i picked up some 1/4 inch red loom and wrapped them up. Not too sure how much i like them still, will probably get red wires eventually. Also pictured, i got bored and painted the radiator support pieces silver with some duplicolor last night.
While the paint was drying i realized i had a lot of that metallic insulation/bubble wrap awaiting a project. So i cut a piece to fit the front drivers side corner and sealed it up good with some heat reflecting tape. It does block a couple of holes that go into the same air space the cone draws air from so maybe it'* helping some, if not that'* fine, i like the look.
Still need to put on my Hulkspeeds and 3.4 MPS! i almost started the PEM install tonight at 10pm but decided against it in case anything unexpected came up. It will have to wait til sunday. Then i need to find a pulley puller as well.

That'* where i got the tips from, Shipping was fast and the packaging was pretty good. That seller has a variety of tips to choose from. I went to a fairly reputable shop first and the guy told me it "was not possible" to weld those tips on unless i got smaller mufflers. So discouraged i tried my last option which was the mexican muffler shop downtown and im glad i did because i got to position them myself and give input every step of the way. So even though we had to have the receptionist interpret between me and the guy welding i'm really happy with the work they did.
Yes i know, it needs a wash. Tomorrow for sure. I need to get it back to this clean.

Those tips look great, and i like the wire loom, too. Adds a little pop to the underhood.

I love the look! Mine have rusted around the ends of the tips a bit.......hopefully those stainless ones wont! Perfect for that car!
