A few pics for everyone
This car replaced the car I had when I used to be here, a 1995 SLE.. sometimes, I really miss that car..
Two shots taken January 25, '07.
What replaced it:
Bought this with damaged front/rear bumpers in July, for $5,500.. These pics are a week or two old, but.. New front/rear bumper, fogs, and the mods so far are listed in my sig. Next up will be a FWI or exhaust, as the current one has a leak.

But, these are a few of the reasons..
picture taken, and rust fixed next day. Sanded down, spray painted inside/under the bumper with rust-proof paint, and riveted some sheet metal down with some caulking around the hole.
was also beginning on the other side..
Then, one day in february, before taking my car to tech school to have me and a friend buff itout, I am vaccuming the rear floor area, and the carpet felt wet, so I pulled the seat, and there'* a HOLE in the floor. framework was fine, but the thin metal of the bottom of the seat pan on the right had simply rotted through. I never had a chance to fix it, but.. i used a pair of pliers to get all the loose metal off, and painted the metal on the area, and put a towel under the seat for the time being.
Then in March-(ish?) can't remember for sure, The trans needed rebuilding. Before that, I'd had the engine rebuilt after a UIM/LIM coolant leak , messed the engine up. Locked up a week after having it rebuilt. So, 99 gp gt engine got thrown in, and .. I'd had quite a bit of fun, and the transmission was on its way out when I bought the car, so that worsened the problem. In the end, nobody would pay anything more than $750 for the car with all of the problems (also needed new wheel bearings, cv shaft, shocks, tires..) so, one of my mom'* employees bought it off of us for $500.. It was a loss, but, the new one hasn't had any major problems. The worst I've had was my power steering pump having to be replaced, or the alternator. Normal things on these engines.
As for the impala, I'd seen them come out in 2000 when I was 11. I've liked 'em since, so.. this was one of my "reasonable dream cars" as the Bonneville was. I've always liked those since I was a kid, too.

dude
i bought my '95 for $500 and it has the EXACT same rust problems as you... i even used sheet metal!
i hope this isn't an omen for my engine and trans also... i will try to avoid 99 GP engines if it goes.
my dad bought a new impala and it has had more serious problems than my 95 bonnie though
PS: i love that color bonneville

..i took care of that car and then some..
the exterior was in pretty good shape for the mileage (upwards of 140)
I got very into auto detailing while I owned that car, as you can tell
i don't know much past the way of wash/wax/clay though.. but.. yeah, that'* how nicely done up it was while i had it.
washed twice per week even in snow. i'm lucky to do the impala once every two because of the money now going towards gasoline :(

I see you have about 11 posts, but you're talking about coming back. What happened to your other account? Either way, welcome back! Good to see you've recovered well from the car sale. I'm so sorry your Bonneville is gone, but the Impala looks amazing as well. The way your Bonneville looks in those pictures makes me want to detail my cars! It looks really good.

Looks good. Looks just like my brother'* 03 that my parents bought new. They are nice cars and I am jealous of his heated seats.
How many miles are on yours? All the bells and whistles?
Either way, nice upgrade.
On the rust on the bonneville, that is more common than you think. I bet a lot of people would be shocked to find the rust under the rear seat, but not many people remove it to check.
