im not 100% sure on this, so someone correct me if im wrong, but if they total it, they'll give you the money for the value of your car, and they'll "take" the car, but you will/should have the opportunity to buy it back for a amount of money (usually low like $500 or something) and then you can do the repairs to the car and the titled will be marked totalled but you will still have the same car

99% sure that will NOT be writen off its an 01 so only 5-6 years old in that good a shape before the accident. i have seen MUCH worse get fixed even on older cars.
DONT let then write it off! if they suggest that they might...you can easly have it fixed

make sure if they DO total it they dont try to lowball you on the price... do research and find comparable vehicles for sale in the area to get a higher payout

I say that damage is somewhere between 4-6K. And it can be done a heck of alot cheaper if you go to a junkyard and get the parts. The pricey item is going to be your rear quarter, but even then $8k is outrageous.

used quarters are availiable.... i wouldnt hesitate to put one on my car if thats what it took to 'save' it
