So I realized its not too bad, but I noticed something today that I didn't see before. I do have a nasty dent in my hood. Its right above the inner part of the headlight and looks as if someone put their knee up on the car and then pushed down hard enough to make a dent.

I am gonna try that whole hot and cold thing But since this is not just a panel dent and it took some serious force to dent it on a bend, I don't think I'm getting off that easily.

Flying out Wednesday morning. For the next two days, I am 100% HUSTLE.

Oh, that stinks, John.
I'm glad she was stopped and the deer hit her, not the other way around.
Everyone is okay, and that'* obviously the most important.

#2 on the list: Get the car fixed up!

#3 Go hunting for a deer with green paint smears on it!

Well a little update. Went down to gibsons in menasha looking for some parts and now only have 5 92-95 bonnevilles and only 1 96-99.

Every single one was missing its corner lamps with the exception of one that was partially painted black from an idiot who rattle canned his red 92, black. BUTT UGLY. IT had a nice PONTIAC headlight but it was partially painted black so I just got the headlight retainer from it and left the headlight there. Someone screwed the retainer screws (big ones on the top) on so tight, and I forgot pliers, so I ended up using a screw driver in the grip threads with mom helping on the other side to get some leverage and all of a sudden it slipped and her screwdriver flat edge went scraping RIGHT across the top of my ring and middle fingers, SLICE! hurt like HELL.

Called the dealer while I was there and just ordered a new side lamp instead. $30. Picking that up tomorrow morning.

Found today that my wheel well splash guard is cracked as well, clean horizontal crack. So I went and got one of those as well off the same car.

Got home after doing all that and went to install the splash shield. Took off center cap, took off lug covers and then attempted to break loose the lugs. Holy CRAP. Whoever last had those wheels off put on those lugs at about 2-300 FT LBS of torque!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It took every ounce of strength to break loose the 4 regular lugs with a huge crossbar. Now the fun part. Put on my locking lug key on the lugnut...put on the wrench...try to turn with all my strength...NOTHING, not going ANYWHERE. So I said, ok, this isn't going to work, so I threw a 2 foot breaker bar on there. Starts to move, STARTS TO MOVE!!! *FAIL* It wasn't the lug moving, i was stripping the lugnut head right apart! So I get it off there and see a good amount of metal shreds inside the wheel. The lugnut keyed head is SCREWED. The key of course, is fine, super hard steel. Grade 8 is it? *forgot those grades*

So thats perfect. Re torqued all the lugs back to normal...and put the covers back on.

Successfully replaced the headlight retainer and got that all back to normal...so thats good.

So tomorrow when I go to the dealership to get that corner light, I'm going to have them remove those 4 locking lugs and have them replaced with normal lugs. Then get home, get that wheel off, replace the splash shield, then do the corner lamp and I'm good! Fender will still have a nice crack in it, hood will still be dented, trim will still be cracked, but its all I can do right now. :?

Tomorrow is my last day and I already have a schedule written out to keep me on task for about 12 hours time. TONS to do.

Hope I didn't forget anything...that sounds about right I think.

UGH!!!

Went to the dealer...and apparently they didn't get the part in like promised. So I am going to have to do it tomorrow MORNING right before i leave. Then asked them how much it would be to get those lugs off and they're like $80!!! So I bought 4 lugs from the parts department for $6

found a place near me that'll do it for about 30 so I guess its gonna go ok, but this is really holding me up, i really wanted to have that splash shield installed already!!! UGH!

got about 8 hours more stuff to do ahead of me. runnin out.

Here'* a story for ya John...

I was stopped at a train right around dusk. I had a 89 t-bird at the time. Well anyway, I'm sitting there jammin to my music and all of a sudden BAM..skreech......thud. A freakin deer came barreling out of the field, ran into the side of my car, rolled over my hood, hit the ground and took off

So I get outta the car, have HUGE antler (or whatever they are called) scratches all over my hood, and my pass-side fender was smashed in. So I call my mom, tell her what happened, and of course she'* like WHAT? YOU HIT A DEER?? So here I am, "No Mom, the deer hit me, I was stopped at a train ". It was quite funny actually.

Ok, end of story....
