Default My Banged Up Bonnie!

This was after I struck a concrete light post in Guelph Ontario on Friday night.

I drove it 65 minutes back to my home in Brantford. Major damage was caused by the deployment of the airbags, the rest is really not that bad as I was at a low speed turning into a parking lot|

It is a 1999 Bonnie in good shape, well until now that is! It did have damage to the front end from parking mishaps (I am a new driver and not that experienced yet!).

I hope to get it back on the road soon!

Front End damage

Wonderful what an airbag can do to your car!

Air bag deployed on passenger side, drivers one already cut out so I could drive it home!

Looks like it'* working now. Ouch. So little damage to the front, so much to the inside.

You'll need
Dash
Steering wheel airbag
Resetting of the airbag module
Body fixed
Windshield

If you can source parts cheap, it'* not that bad of work. I've been there and done that.

I am going to be using used parts for sure! The guy I go to is pretty good at doing quality work at cheap prices for sure!

If it was not for the air bag smashing the windshield, it would have been a pretty easy job, just make it run and away I would go. The windshield going like that, makes it a bit tougher but I will get er done!

I will also need the left headlamps and side light fixed as they are smashed out as well.

But the engine still runs good so that is great! Just need the body fixed up!

Well I did find all the parts listed and it came to about $700 if I buy them myself. The guy told me he would total up the costs and let me know tomorrow. He said both fenders need replacing as well as the front end is pushed in right up to the radiator.

I told him I don't care about looks or anything, just want it fixed and in running condition. If he comes in too high, I will take it somewhere else and get an estimate from there as well.

At first look he said $5000.00 damage.. R U KIDDING ME? The car is not worth $5000!! I am thinking maybe $1500 with parts I buy myself and than the labour on top. Anything more like that and it is joyride time in it!
