My 97 Park Avenue
Has Come a long ways in the last 6 weeks since purchasing it at the end of Jan with 137,000 km. First thing was new synthetic oil and transmission filter/fluids.
I have to say I really love driving this comfortable spacious FWD land yacht.
On the last highway run it got 26 mpg at 70 mph after new iridium plugs and new NGK wires. The previous owner had installed a new intake manifold as the plastic cracked. I then needed to bring it up to my safety standards by installing a new Delco water pump, serpentine Gatorback, Prestone 195 thermostat, fuel filter, engine & Cabin Air Filters, wiper blades, Michelin Destiny tires, alignment, Raybestos pads & rotors on front, (rear brakes in 2 days) and the latest install is the great Odyssey battery connected via top posts. Also had to install new PIAA Intense white bulbs (bye yellow & Dim low beams)
Everything was steam cleaned again under the hood after I got the new valve cover'* gaskets done. It was leaking worse from the rear gasket but both are in good shape now.
I just turned 140,000 km or 84 k miles today.
Hopefully I get many good miles ahead before big repairs like tranny etc. It seems like a reliable ride now. I will now get to enjoy some serious highway boogies!
Best to all in the forums enjoy your rides!
