1991 Chevrolet C1500 454SS
I've had this truck since 2004, I bought it with 216,000 on the original engine. That high mileage pig was still running well enough to run the truck at 15.1@89mph all night long. In 2007 I bought a 502 replacement engine. Since it was a CARB approved model that reused the 454'* TBI, it didnt have the monster power numbers you'd expect from a 502, but it did have awesome low end torque. The 454 and the 502 were basically designed to go into motorhomes IMO. After putting a bigger cam in the 502, I got the truck running 14.2. I've done a few things since then, like enlarging the TBI and a vacume referenced fuel pressure regulator. I"m sure the truck will run high 13'* now, but I havn't been to the track in a few years.
The interior is not original, the leather buckets came from a wrecked Tahoe.
FYI - 8 MPG city, 11 highway.
