Cool, Im impressed. You know they did this in the 60'* with a 442 as well right ?

It had two blown 425 Toronado drivetrains, same thing as you did.

yeah i've seen more than a few of the Toronado mods that can be done (rear engine 84 cutlass wheelstander etc)

In the early 70'* GM was gonna kill the corvette (due to the pesky oil embargo) so two prototype twin engine cars were built, a twin 4 cylinder Monza and a twin v6 pont Ventura, both proved that they could run with a 70 corvette (Ventura nose to nose every test except it beat the vette in 0-40mph "traffic" sprints) and it got twice the mpg! (you could drive it on one engine!). The reason corvettes arent twin engined today-customers wouldn't pay extra for the cars extra components, maintenance. SO they CHoked the sbc V8 with smog components that reduced the output to (at one time 175 hp) way less than the 350 hp L-89 in 70.
We have just done the same thing for way cheaper!
And of course, we have yet to see one like it, YET (twin engine GTP would be cool!)

I love being a PSYCHOTIC GEARHEAD! iNOVAtion!

So how would you stack up the 3800 to other engines and cars you have modified?

different engines have their own particular atributes with this particular project the 3800 offered the best oportunity for making lots of torque, as the rear will be fully loaded at launch, and doing a good portion of accelerating the car at the bottom end of the track.
There are just so many engines, 3800'* are well designed engines especially with superchargers. But believe me i have many different engines so i'm not loyal (AMC,SBC,Chrysler, etc) I couldnt rate it i'm still a v8 person but it does it'* job without problems and will handle the turbo so... it'* great!
but with my twin engines car (it'* so awesom on Al'* ride i gotta make me one, since my tools made his 442 LOL!
I am planning on using my sisters last car a, 87 chrysler Lebaron GTS 2.2L Turbo I and putting a rear 2.2L Turbo II in the back (a hatchback so great engine acces LOL.) for my warm weather cruiser/racer. and the Nova my dedicated dragcar.

view of the 3800'* ECM and wiring behind the pass seat ECM at bottom with the 3800 fuse box right above it and above that is the 90 Trofeo VatsPasskey module box with a signal generator inside to fool the ECM into thinking the antitheft is still there, and enabling the injector drivers.

here'* a shot of the interior with the seats out to make work easier-the dash is apart for gauge work and painting/wiring work then the carpet will be laid down-you can see the dual shifters to.

AND THE BIGGIE! here is the new (used) turbocharger that will be going onto the the rear 3800 engine (winter of 05'?) it is a Mitsubishi TD06-17c-8cm^2 that is the stock type turbo for 91-93 4.3L turbocharged Cyclone/Typhoon. according to the compressor map it will easily make a good boost curve and support 400Hp. But the turbo will be sent out to be modified to the TD06-20G-16cm^2 specs and compressor wheel, which will give a bit more lag on the bottom end (a small shot of N20 will help that!) but will (by my calc) peak at 24psi boost and flow enough air to make 550+Hp YEEEEHAAWWW! cant wait to start fabbing it all up!

hope you have enjoyed this as much as I have! lol!
