Last spring I saw about 8 impala SS DCM'* all in a line going down the high way. They all had blacked out windows, and these really cool chrome rims. Again, I wish I had my camera.

Wow, those Impalas just cannot be beat. I love 'em! The closest I had was a '92 Caprice 9C1 (police package), which had a rebuilt LS1 and custom exhaust. Loved that power and sound!
What kind of mpg do you average on that beast?

Yea, but the engine you had in the caprice was TBI. the LT1 on the other hand is TPI, big difference in how efficiently each cylinder can burn....

Well, in 1994 chevy made 6,303 impala ss, those were in only black. Moving onto 1995 18,649 impala ss were made, now in three different colors black, dark cherry metallic, dark green-grey metallic. in 1996 41,191 were made, the biggest production run of the late model SS. The rareity of these cars is what drives the value to be pretty hiigh, personally if you dont really care about owning the name get a caprice 9c1 in the same years
This is a buddies Caprice 9c1 that was stripped and repainted black, which in my opinion looks pretty sexy...

Nice 'Pala, I love those cars. I was actually looking for a SS, when I got my Mark VIII, which btw is RWD and VERY, VERY, fast! (4.6l 32V totally interchangable w/ the Cobra motor!)
