Default Header install on my 99

Hey, it'* been a while! Just stopping by to say hello and to show off my latest crazy mod for my naturally aspirated Bonneville. It'* a lot of fun to work on it with my friends.

I love the clearance we have on the front and back! Headers are generally easy, apparently. Bill was nice enough to give me some good tips, like the header install and then the crossover placement, possible O2 sensor conflict(*), etc. I think I'm ruling out possible issues as they come along. This is pretty cool! First, here'* a picture of the front clearance:

Loosened crossover pipe bolts:

I had to remove my throttle body to make it easier to reach one bolt.

Then, I removed the front exhaust manifold.

Here'* a friend of mine climbing into the engine bay and pretty easily breaking loose the rear bolts. i was very surprised.

We got to the downpipe from beneath the car:

It turns out that CarX lied and actually didn't weld the rectangular flanges together! That'* excellent!

And here are some interesting pictures.

Here'* another friend of mine. I bought him a chocolate malt ice cream thing so that he would help me break out some of the bolts for the rear head.

Yes, I didn't finish it, but it was a fun day nonetheless. Here'* a sneak peek of the header install:

Looking good! You've got to be a bit of a contortionist to get those installed, but it looks likes your making great progress.

I actually haven't been able to finish because neither trans dipstick that I have, W-body or H-body, fits. It looks like I'll try another W-body dipstick and shove it slightly differently, but overall it doesn't seem like I will finish until late tomorrow. If someone has a picture of a W-body dipstick, please let me know.

A W body dip stick will work, but it takes a bit of work. I mounted mine and then had to pull it a bit to give more room.

I'm going to be doing the same procedure here soon. Looking good so far. Nothing more satisfying than doing your own work!

Was on the phone with Rad a bit last night. He'* not having much luck getting the tube in the right place. I did a TOG install recently and it took a bit of working over the tube.

I don't understand why they can't all install like SLP'*. The couple I've installed went quick, nice and easy w/o any fitment issues to the tube. Being an installer...I'm biased.
