that makes sense

the final gearing is 3.71:1 on mine.

I'll say that I've never experieanced that surge at 105. Even with my INTENSE PCM that still had torque mgmt in it. In fact, I would say i've never had the car surge like that. A non PCM related things to check would be try cheking your fuel pump screen to see if its clogged. A scan would tell us what your fuel pulse widths are doing so we can tell if its a fuel delivery problem or if its the pcm pulling timing. I think thats the next best move for you.
Fuel pump screen was what I thought at first too. So I changed it and it made no difference. New fuel filter too.
Winds out pretty good in 1st gear up to 6000 rpm with no problem.

The only other time, the car surged like that was when I first installed the 3.4" pulley....then it disappeared.
I think it'* knock retard. I always run 94 Octane Chevron fuel...but how do you know for sure the quality of fuel???
My air charge is always cool...same temp as outside air....never more than 80 F around here.

I have my fuel pressure regulator adjusted to 3 psi more than stock and I ditched the AFC 1.1. It did the same thing before the fuel pressure was increased.

My boost gauge reads about 9.5 psi max.

The only time it does this is when I run wide open from a stop....so it takes about 14 secs. before it kicks in.

Any other suggestions?

There are tables in the pcm for fueling based on length of time at WOT. Im wondering if something is off that with that table where its not supplying enough fuel and your going lean resulting in massive KR.

I am definitely going to try to borrow a laptop and try a scan.
Running lean is BAD.

Can you suggest what minimum points I should monitor to troubleshoot.....and since it will be my first time scanning with a log, maybe PM me on some helpful instructions to make the chore easier.
I've read the manual but I'm sure you know what I mean.

I'll post here so that others can benifit.

Since we are going into diag mode here and not relaly performance tuning I would suggest the following all in table mode (IE no gauges, or linear tracking).

Engine Coolant Temp
Engine Speed
Ignition Timing
Knock Retard
Injector pulse width #1 (shows how much fueling is being done)
MAF Frequency (how much air is being sucked in the intake)
Intake Air Temp
Vehicle Speed
Long term fuel trim 1
Short term fuel trim 1
02 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 (mv)
throttle position angle

to figure boost you also need
manifold absolute pressure
barometric pressure

Boost = (MAP-BP)*.49

I would concentrate on your 02'* and KR on your first run. If it appears really bad I wouldnt do anymore but if it seems ok we can drop a few tables so we can get higher resolution on numbers.

Use the log feature and dont try to read the numbers while your driving Also Microsoft Excel would be handy afterwards to try and sort the data.

open it in windows media player and let it download the latest codec
I tried this and said I already had newest version 9.5 No sound for me.

mine automatically downloaded some codecs. Try going to microsoft.com and doing a search for "codec". I hate the stupid things.
