I was up north of Toronto when this happened heading on the highway as well, on a highway that looked not unlike the 401 east of Oshawa. The rain was bad, and the traffic was worse, 4 hours to travel 20km

That'* happened to me before.. without all the sparks... :/
We were going back to Eagle'* Nest, New Mexico after shopping in Angelfire, it was basically a wall of rain when we went through.. then a an extremely loud pop...
My stomach hurt, and all the electronics of the suburban were shot.. but it still ran.. good ol' Chevy.
