69 convertible Cadillac ride of about 150 miles round trip
A friend of mine, Jake, got a free 1969 convertible Cadillac. It'* awesome! It has a 472ci engine with a Turbo 400 transmission, and it runs really smoothly, though there is valve clatter, and the transmission doesn't "function" when cold. It'* a work in progress, and with this car we went cell phone-less on a ~150 mile trip. Here are some pics with descriptions. Instead of taking I-70 West, we took US 40, the original National Road. With a speed limit max of 55 the entire way, it was just too hard not to drive with the top down.
Here'* Jake standing next to the Cadillac and the Aerostar I drove over there.

I was acting like a tourist in this fine convertible.
This is a bridge between some downtown mall areas.
Exiting the city.
And now you will notice the windshield crack on the passenger side. Here are some more pictures.
This is Terre Haute. Not much to see here...
Gas is filled behind the license plate. Check out that exhaust pipe! There are two true dual exhaust pipes!
And now, 10 car pictures!
The trip was fun. We got to see the the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology and LOTS of fields.

Yeah, he'* gotten a ton of high offers! However, he'* one of those people that would do a lot of things for a car like that, too. Good thing it'* his.
