Default 442 at UMM3 Racing compilation...."Son of Hairy"

I have finally finished the 442 Vid with footage from UMM3....
425ci - 4 wheel drive - 2 engines
PB of 13.81 at just over 98 mph with 1.9s 60 foot times
and this was on a 90* day with close to 60% humidity!
3100 V6 in the front and a 3800 V6 in the back
both factory stock except for porting work and some of my own trans mods

she is our modern version of the original Hurst "Hairy" Olds 442 that had TWO blown 425 ci V8'* and could roast the tires the whole way down the track!

here it is....its much cleaner than this...putfile must be compressing it...

whatcha think?

cause it gets warm in the car!

that and since MyMonte.com basically rented the track for the day....US41 didnt care...only 4 of our 9 runs were with the window down (just the drivers)

the drive to the track was great! we got great mpg till we started up the rear engine

Yeah that isnt the fully finished vid but yeah i needed to post it....

THat L67 MC was fast but we had him by .5 car lengths at the 1/8th mile...and he only beat us by less than .5 seconds at almost the same trap speed!

That Impala was the best though...he didnt know what hit him!

soon we hope to make another go at the track times...on a nice cool non humid day!

Next project: L67s in both ends!

Hella sweet car, can't wait to see what it becomes when you really start fiddling with the motors.

I am very curious as to how you set up the transmission and the cooling for the rear engine? Nice vid though!

alot of the info is described in earlier links in this thread, but needless to say there are two auto trans shifters and poth are seperate, both engines have their own radiator and trans coolers (external also), the rear transaxle has an external electric fluid circulation pump for when the 442 is driving with only the front engine running, this is to keep the trans lubricated and prevent frying the clutches.

the enignes are not sync'd, they use the same fuel system, and the threttles are linked by cable (the rear engine having a progressive opening throttle)

The miracle of a Tq converter...each engine revs up on its own, this has been discussed plenty, works great!
