MPG is good I got about 38 MPG on the highway the other day. OVerall, I hate this car. It shakes going down the freeway. Driving down dirt roads is rattles like a cheap toyota. My GTP rattles less.
The wipers do not work I found out, the air bag light turned on, and the trunk opens while driving down the road. I was going down the freeway, the trunk pops open. Pulling out of the driveway the trunk opens. Sitting in the garage the trunk opens. I have it at the dealership to get worked on, but I am not holding my breath. I have it up for sale right now, and I can't wait to get rid of this car. I really regret buying it. Do youself a favor do you buy one of these.
The trans is just awful. It upshits or downshifts at the strangest times, and does so with a clunk. Not really a fan of this car anymore.
I have about 500 miles on it, and that is enough. I just want my money back. Worst car I have ever owned. Which is a shame. The quality on my 2014 escape is miles ahead. I wonder what is so different between the two.

From all the problems you listed Nate, that car sounds like a repair nightmare.
What is the history on it? How many miles were on it when you purchased it?

Very low miles just over 9k on it when I bought it.
The car left me stranded today after a no start condition. Eventually it did start back up. Not sure what is up with that.

This car is dead now. The trans is messed up. The dealer I took it to wants nothing to do with it. I parked it for now. Going to sit on till I can get it fixed or wait until it turn into a low mileage classic, and sell it for 5k in another 30 years lol.

Geez Nate sorry to hear about the transmission.
Did you not get any warranty when you bought this car, even powertrain?

It has a warranty, but I am finding a hard time finding a dealership that wants to deal with the problem. One dealer told me two months before he could even look at it. He told me in the mean time only drive the vehicle if it is necessary.
I feel like taking the Fusion out, and just beating the snot out of it till it breaks, and then call road side assistance and get it towed to the Ford dealer and make them fix it. It does have a manufacture warranty for 5 years or 60k miles on the engine/transmission.
The other warranty for the rest of the car ends in a couple months (3 years) or 36k miles. Now I know why the previous owner never drove this car it was a turd.

That is really something else.
I would try calling Ford Customer service and explain the situation and ask them if this was their car, would you not want a properly working transmission?
Tell them which dealers are giving you the run-around while you are at it.
I bet that will bring some results, hopefully quickly.
