Some people make or have a lot of money.

A friend of mine here where I live, has a $185,000. Turbo 911, a new Silverado, a Jeep, a V W bug and so on ........

You really do get what you pay for with some high end vehicles.

Sure you can argue that a $30,000 GTP with $10,000 worth of mods could match or beat the Porsche but there'* more to that car than acceleration.
You really have to drive one.
The E55 did it so effortlessly it was candy for the eye to behold. That old guy was in his glory. He was over 75 years old.

ever try to work on one of those ? It'* like cleaning a watch. I do respect those cars.
I've even had the opportunity to flog a few 996'* and 2 360 Ferrari'*. Incredible cars.
I just have more respect for the GTP. He BUILT his car. The other dude just financed his.
Anybody can go fast with money. Very few folks can go fast with no money.
I'm impressed with brains and engineering of the individual. I used to take money from guys like that with a beat up 10k modded 5.0 mustang.

Also , ever see a Porsche with 200k on it ?

One more thing. If they are so well made how come they don't beat Buick on JD powers
survey ? or Consumer reports ? I'm not knocking Mercedes. They are cool. They just aren't 3 times better than a comparable American car. Ferraris are not 5 times better than a Vette. The new Z06 would run with ANY of those cars for 1\4 of the price.
( excluding exotics such as the $650,000 Enzo )

I am biased. I admit it. I've just saw too many European cars with dead motors and a HUGE repair bill.
