Default 2005 Dodge Ram 4X4 problem

I Just got a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 a couple months ago and of course after the 30 day warrenty expires I start having problems. I just put a new left ball joint on it, and now I am noticeing that when I put it in 4wheel drive, it slowly pops out of 4wheel back into 2wheel drive. anybody got an answer that will help me get this problem fixed. is it the linkage? any help will be appreciated.

It sounds like your hubs aren't locking properly.. Did any wires going to the hubs get disconnected/damaged when you replaced the ball joint?

It was the Drivers side wheel bearing that got replaced not the ball joint, would that still make it pop out of 4wheel drive any help will be appreciated.

Like I said before, there might have been something done wrong with the wires when it was installed. I'm not sure how the hubs work on those trucks, and if the hub/bearing is one piece like a lot of newer vehicles..

its like a FWD car. the only way i can see it not working is if they forgot to tighten down the axle nut and the axle came out of the splines. the dang things are hard to get out though i dont see even if there was no nut the axles backing out.

have the other one done too by the way, it will make the wheel fall completely off while you are driving it down the road with little audible warning. my father inlaws gave him maybe 10 miles of audible warning. he called me and said its started making noise, i told him to bring it over and on the way it completly seperated, took out the caliper, axle, landed on the rotor, it wasnt fun.
