I'm planning to do the Seafoam treatment to get rid of some of the carbon built up in my engine. Any recommendations on which vacuum line to use, and what size vacuum hose I'll need to pick up would be very welcome.

Also, do I let it suck up about 1/3 of a can slowly while lifting on the throttle to keep it from dying, and after it'* all sucked up, hook the vacuum hose back up, turn off the engine for 15 minutes, and then start it back up.

Choose a smaller line between the throttle body and the intake manifold, not the brake boost line. That'* to big. Just stick the hose in and suck a bit, to much at once and the engine will stall. I just stick the hose in and pull it back out, you will hear it slurping, that'* what you want. When about 1/3 can is in, stick the hose in and stall the engine. Hook hose back up and pour the last of it in your gas tank. Let sit 15 20 mins and start up. Then watch the smoke fly. You will have to be on the gas a bit to keep it running.

Do you have a pic of the line I should use, and from which direction I should suck up the seafoam? There'* a few lines around the throttle body, and I don't know which is which. Thanks.

I only have a diagram for a supercharged engine. Pick a fitting at the throttle body. It will flow in to the throttle body.

Well, there was one that hooked a left at a right angle coming out of the throttle body, so I used that. I fed the Seafoam in over a course of a minute. The engine died twice despite opening the throttle, got about 1/2 of the 1/3 can in and the third time starting the engine, managed to keep it going well, it would sound like it was going to die but then rev way up on its own. So, wait 15-20 minutes, and start it up? I put 1/3 can in the oil too.

Your going to get a ton of smoke, so be ready for that. Make sure you change the oil after your done. Your oil will turn black and watery.

Actually just changed the oil yesterday, so I kinda wasted my money. Maybe it'll be better though so I can better gauge how much carbon is in the fresh oil. I picked up 5 qts of Castrol and a Pure1 filter today with the Seafoam.

How long do I let it run before stepping on the gas and taking off? I've got about 1/8 tank, I want to burn through that, pull up to a gas station, and put in half a tank of gas with the last 1/3 of the Seafoam.

Run it a few mins. Once the smoke stops and it idles smooth, your ready to drive.

There was very little smoke. A strong puff for 3-4 seconds then practically none thereafter. It was idling smooth the entire time. Engine oil looks clean. Did I mess it up?
