Default Sea Foam Procedure

Note: 97 SE used. NA with vacuum assisted Transmission (4T-60E) Also I replaced all my hard lines with soft but the lines are still in the same positions.

The use of Sea Foam is a great cheap way to give the engine a good conditioning and cleaning. To get the sea foam in the intake manifold to clean a vacuum hose needs to be used. The right vacuum hose needs to be used or the agent will be pulled in too quickly. The break boost hose is too big but the hoses used for the evap emission systems are perfect. Also once the procedure is complete an Oil Change MUST be done.

Bring the engine up to or about running temperature

Only 1/3 of the Sea Foam needed or about 5 1/3 fl oz

A 16oz water bottle is perfect because filling this up 1/3 is the exact amount

Now locate the the hose need. It is high lighted in the next too pictures

The hose running from the throttle body to the evap purge solenoid. If the engine as a hard line maybe attaching a length of hose maybe 2-3 feet can help suck the Sea Foam into the engine.

Once the fluid starts getting sucked in the engine will want to stall. So the throttle must be open by hand. This is done by turning the throttle body cable cam on the side. If the TB is not opened the engine will stall.
These pictures show the position of the cam and what it looks like

Once all the fluid is sucked in shut the engine down for between 20 and 45 minutes. And reconnect all hoses

Once the Sea Foam has a chance to soak in time to start it up. Warn any skittish people or family members and Do Not start the car indoor. A smoke show is about to start. Now go out and drive the car for about a 10-15 minute drive where between 3-5 Full Throttle pulls can be safely done.

Once the smoke subsides bring the car back and preform an oil and filter change.

Upon the next fill up but the rest of the Sea Foam in the gas tank.
