Time to change that O2 sensor? If you have over 60k on it, ya, it'* a good idea. It'* really not that hard, and wont take long. It will also help your MPG. Get a good sensor such as Denso, Bosch has been shown over and over again to be a bad choice. So don't go with Bosch. Remember, your O2 sensor will not throw a SES light unless it fails totally, and it will be bad long before that happens.

First thing you want to do is remove this cross brace. You don't have to remove it, but you will wish you had. a 13mm socket and the 2 bolts on each side come out, then set it to the side.


You can remove the rear plug wires if you wish.

Unplug the sensor here.


There is a special socket to remove the sensor. It looks like a spark plug socket with a notch cut in the side. It will make it easier, but not really needed. Besides, I've heard of people not being able to remove the sensor because the socket flaxes. You can use a 7/8 open end wrench but you will only have a limited amount of space to turn it.


Here'* a close up of the sensor. It'* located on your rear exhaust manifold right on top.


Now you just need to install the new sensor. Put a little anti seize on the threads. Take special care not to get any on the probe, also take care not to touch the probe with your hand. Tighten the sensor and connect the plug.

Now put the cross bar back in place and your all set.
