Default 1966 Pontiac Executive (bonneville wannabe??)

Ok so here in newark ohio there is a 1966 Pontiac Executive on a good will car lot for 1300 dollars has been sitting there for about 5-10 months (i have a bad memory).
I did a little research and from my understanding there was a 1966 Pontiac Star Chief Executive. Then from 1967-1970 They were produced. Executive was actually the denomination for the option package. Then in 1971 The executive was discontinued and the bonneville is what replaced it. This may be covered on this page somewhere already. I guess what im getting at is from what i read the Executive was the mid priced option of the same years Basically there was three option packages Catalina Executive and Bonneville. So in closing if i could get this car for 1300 dollars (still runs) and restore it i basically have the poor mans bonneville of those years. Im seriously considering doing it. Any suggestions or comments or help would be greatly appreciated.

Info about cars would help
How interchangable are the parts between the executive and the bonneville or if they are at all.
If anyone is familar what kind of typical problems did the 400 v8 have if any.

Thanks in advance

This is the information i have so far
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Bonneville

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pontiac_Executive

Both seem to support that they would be interchangable parts. But not 100% sure.

I'm sure there are some parts that interchange, and some stuff that didn't come on the Executive that you could use from other cars like interior parts. Most cars from that era had interchangeable parts in different areas. Bodywise they probably aren't compatible, but I'm not familiar with them much. It'* not a desirable car, but if it'* in solid shape with little or no rust and runs decent, $1300 is always a steal for a classic car.

typically the executive came in the 4 door version of the catalina/bonneville in 66
then in 67 could be had in a 4 door wagon.

next time you see it get us some pics

Alot of parts were interchangable from drivetrain to interior parts on both cars. There was also a Parissane and Catalina line. Just different Options. I have been a big fan and pontiac collector since the 1970'* and have had several GTO'*. and in 1964 that was the mark of the opening of the GTO based on the Executive/Bonneville line production cars with 389 tri-power set-ups. The Bonnevilles were loaded with Power windows and locks and sometimes power steering and brakes. While the Paissane and Catalinas were based models cars without them. Bonnevilles were also produced in 1956 - 2005.

Sorry it was 1958 - 2005 and also Parisienne is what its called. Also in 1957 they had a fuel injection concept shared with the 1957 bel-airs. (Rochester fuel injections).

to be honest im not to familiar with newark yet and i have lived here a year. But its near the police station ill send you a link to a website.

Sooooo would the 67-70 bonneville body panels be compatable with the 66 star chief executive. Im gonna call the lot tomorrow and get a ViN so i can break down the options and possibly get the miles and known problems that are not visible.
