Default Break it down! (the autodown mod) 56k HA!

i thought i would go into more detail on the autodown mod then Pat and boosty did on in there thread

first off here is the modual that you need to get your paws on
in the doaner door

now that thats out of the way, time to open up the resipeant!!

make sure you ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW if you dont want to break the top of you door panel
you will need to remove the door light (pry with a screwdriver at the rear gently and get it in deep!) there will be to 10mm bolts there to remove,
next pop out the little panle behind the door release handle, there will be a T15 torew screw there...get that puppy outta there too
now give the manual lock a good hard pull to get it off and then remove the bigger panel from there
now get out your 7mm socket and remove the to screws fron the front at the bottom of the panel
ok now that should be all the bolts and screws, now give the bottom of the panle a good tug out to release the push pins (they go up the sides too)
with everything pulled out now comes the tricky part removing the panel from the top...
get your fingers in the window channel grasp the panel and give it a firm and even pull up (near the rear) take you time on this!!!!!!!!
YAY ITS OFF!!!

ok once your done with that mess its time for the fun part!
pop out the plug from the window motor and cut off the end , strip and connect the wires to the matching colour wires on the modual (brown with white tracer & blue)

Size: 81.0 KB
now locate the power wire (pink) and again attach the modual wire to it ("T" it in)

then zipptie it out of harms way

do the same for the other wires

and the modual its self ( i choose to use big zippties and attach it to the inside of the door)

now test everythig and make sure it works, then put the door back together the same way you took it apart (just the other way around-DUH!)
once thats done you will then be as cool as Me, Pat ,Bill and Ditchboy
wanna see it in action?

also one last mod to be Double Cool like Pat and I
add another autodown window button

One thing to note is the wire colors changed somewhere around 93-95, therefore the module you find/buy may not have the same colors as Pete mentions..however the connector cavity labeling is consistent and can be relied on.

Just a side note, this may have just been me too, this did NOT work on my '87. I tried two separate modules from two separate cars, and i could only get auto up or auto down, and then the other direction would NOT work. I don't know what happened, i tried every combination i could think of, but i just couldn't get it. So keep it in mind, but i know lots of other 87-91 owners have accomplished this no problem. Probably my white curwse acting up again.

No i know that, i meant if i hooked it up i could get auto-down, but not ANY movement in the other direction. If i tried wiring it the other way i could get auto-up, but NO down movement. For some reason, there was no way for me to get the auto function and still get the window to move in the opposite direction. I wasn't looking for auto in both directions.
