ClubGP Message Forum troubleshooting

Here is what the recall is about for your car, and what they are doing for it. If I were you I would probally get out there with a flash light and check all arround those valve covers.
Changine the oil pan gasket with the engine in the car is a pain in the ~~~. You have to drop the whole subframe. Very hard thing to do. We attempted it one time, and I'll never do it again. I've had these cars apart so many times that I can't even count it. The last time, I installed my engine in 6 hours, key to key time.
The best way to tell if it is leaking arround the valve covers, you will have a slight smoking and a slight smelling when the car is hot.
For now I would just keep a eye on it, I will look to see if there is a write up for changine the valve covers. I'll be back................

Here is a write up on chaning rockers in a car like yours, although you would not be changing your rockers, it will give you a better idea on how to change those valve covers, if that is what you want to do.

Thanks again.

I do notice a faint burning smell when the car is warm - so i think they are leaking a bit.
