Sounds like you have bad battery cables. make sure all are clean and tight, both ends of both cables. If all is clean then you may need to replace the battery cables.

the cables wont drain your battery, they may prevent the battery from being charged but you saud you externally charged it

Lift the hood and look at the driverside front fender in the engine bay. There is a little compressor located on it. Disconnect the 4 wire connector that goes to it.

This is your ELC compressor. In 95 and earlier cars this was directly wired to the battery via relay. Therefore if your struts began to leak, it would pump them up all night and drain the battery. I would suggest moving the trigger for the relay from battery to an ignition source used for one of the other relays in the maxifuse center. This will make the compressor only work with the key on.

Did you check your connections? It was mentioned on here a few times but we never heard back. This definitely sounds like a connection issue. If you have a loose or corroded cable you're not getting any click because it'* not making good contact.

Are the lights on and bright in the interior when you open the doors?

How about the grounds?

Bright interior lights is a good sign, but doesn't necessarily rule out a bad connection somewhere. Starting uses a heck of a lot more current than the lights.

There'* a few easy things to check. First, check the voltage at the terminal on the starter coming from the battery. It'* the largest connector and should read the same voltage as your battery. If you have another person to help, being VERY careful, check the voltage on the solenoid while someone turns the key. This wire here is enabled by the security system and should go to 12 V if your ignition is passing a start signal.
