Default pontiac grand prix air box modding

i was watching some youtube vids about people porting there gp airboxes. i have a drop in k&n filter and was wondering how i could port my air box to recieve the maximum breathability from it. drilling or cutting.

The W body 99+ airbox is very good to begin with. If you have a 97-98 you can replace it with the 99+ box and get rid of those two 90 degree turns in the tube from box to TB.

i was trying to widein maybe triple the size of the actual hole that sucks the air in from behind the headlight assembly and bore out the insides of the actual box. I wanna make "sort of" a ram air intake just in hopes to maximize my breathability and maybe give me a horse or 2.

Gutting your air box is a great first mod. It'* no substitute for a proper intake, but it will make your car louder, a tiny bit faster, and will make you feel good about your do-it-yourself skills.

Take a look at the write-up. That how-to is for a Bonneville, but I can't imagine the GP would be that much different.

what preformance intake do you recommend? ive seen k&n cold air intake but i also like wizard air intake.
