just a little update on this i had a lt4 hotcam fall into my lap as a christmas present and came across too good of deals to pass up on a few other things so the car will be intake and longtube headers along with about 3k worth of tubular suspension from bmr that I picked up for a good price now all I need to find is 1 body piece and she can go under the knife. the bmr suspension I picked up will take this from a good handling to a great handling car couple that with the weight reduction and the balancing I am looking to do it should be complete blast to drive and throw around corners. also got a buddy holding a spare t56 for me that will either go into this or the 78. Pics will follow as soon as I get things pieced back together and all cleaned up. got the lt1 on thurs so it needs a good cleaning and slight polishing. pics following as work gets done

closer shot of the manifold the runners are port-matched and slightly smoothed

this was the other big improvement up top (the intake was port matched to the TB blades also. stock is 52 mm this is 58 mm. I think I will polish it to a shine and smooth the edges to increase the flow and reduce any drag possibility of sharp edges.

the headers in the pic are long tubes so I will be redoing the cat back also. The woman wants this car to be the hidden monster so I have sourced out a P1sc that if I can get the guy down a little bit more on price then it will get stuck on the car to "compensate for the altitude" lol. with the sc being heavily debated there will only be 2 more pieces of tubular BMR suspension to locate to have an entirely tubular suspension setup then the driveshaft safety loop per track regs and a relocation bracket then it should all but be done till I blow something up and go stronger on the rear. But I have a 9 in chilling in storage for which ever car blow the rear first. my money is on the 97 but the 75 ventura may not be far behind it.
For those that are wondering how the cars are all stored this is how for now till the blazer and the regal are running and the blazer is sold

so there you all go a little update with pics more will come when the suspension shows up and or the blower

well I will give all of you the lowdown on the updates... progress has basically stalled on this car but for buying parts for the car since the regals have decided to be a pain and need plenty of attn. First off I had brake lines fail on the 03 so replaced those and the day i bleed the air out and get them right the wp starts failing on the test drive. then i dig into amanda'* car and the lim gasket is trash and the whole motor is caked in oil and grime so 6+ hrs later and 3 cans of brake clean later the grime is mostly gone and the lim is back on waiting to be be tqed back spec and then throw the sc back on and tq it down too.

Enough about the regals back to the TA I have located all the body parts and since i know the people that I dont want to know dont visit this site i will spill the beans... I picked up a set of heads that are ported and the guy made 650+ on a t76 turbo setup for a decent price but here is the rub the box got demolished thanks to ups. While we are on the subject of ups they managed to lose the cam that my buddy was sending me so from now on it is fed ex exclusively from now on.

As for the boost well the kit got sold before I could snag it so I will stay NA for now

as for the toys that I picked up in the mean time I grabbed
a new foglight to replace the broken one
short throw shifter and short stick
BMR strut tower bar
new oil pan to replace the damaged one on the donor

so now for the list of left to get
double roller timing set
1.65 roller rockers
arp head studs
cc503 cam (idle video from youtube) --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pSavK2aqdGM
bmr tq arm relocation cross member for the T56
gaskets
some sort of cut out
some sort of header back exhaust
new power steering pulley that is billet and spoked for easier access to the bolts for removal and installation
Billet flex plate??? maybe
new center console to fix the broken part of the current one.
ls1 hub and spindle so I can get the ctsv brake setup 12 inch to 14inch (giggity)
battery relocation setup for non NHRA racing and race battery in stock location for NHRA track days
Stock firebird rims and drag radials

This is where it gets fun I get to get it dyno tuned on the optispark setup only to later on get the coil on plug and ls1 pcm setup so that I can tune it with the hptuners setup.

on the optispark setup looking for 370rwhp (may be dreaming but... hoping for 12s or 11.9s or better
after the other trans ams are on the road that is when the turbo will be added sts style but with a dual setup 1 t67 sized and 1 t76 sized so it spools early and pulls long up top... bu that will be on a forged 383 with 9.5 compression ratio setup.

so there is a little update for anyone that is watching /or is curious.

I have to have it at least running by june 25th to take to a wedding 400 miles east so time to get my butt in gear

the tan car may just have the IC finally fall on when I do the water pump just to see if i cant kill the KR I have or see if it stays.

very interesting project, i would guess mid 13'* with your current setup unless youve done significant weight reduction, doesnt really sound like it though.

i put a summit stud girdle on my ten bolt and it seems to be holding up well at the 400hp level, probably not much more than that though.
