Replacing Outer Molding On Passenger Side Of Windshield
HI,
I have a 2005 Grand Am GT, and the outer molding on the passenger side of the windshield is gone.
The replacement part # that came up in my local Pontiac dealer'* system was 15241118. I went to pick it up, but did not buy it, because it doesn't seem like it'* the right part. The replacement is a much harder plastic, while the org was a softer rubbery material.
Is there anyone who can set me straight on this? Is there any chance that the material used for the part was changed, and the 15241118 that came in was actually correct?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you.

I cant remember where I heard this, but I think that it is supposed to be hard like that and the reason you lost your other one is because it got soft.
I remember having the same problem with my old alero, but I used some weather strip adhesive to hold it in place.
You should be good to go!

Hmm... that'* interesting. Never heard of that.
Nothing to hold in place, for like I said, it'* gone.
Did find out there was a part # change from 22615172 to 15241118.
Thanks for your input.

If I don't find the older model, I guess I'll find out. And that in itself will be interesting, because the newer version is a hard plastic, and it'* hard to see how it actually fits.
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
