Default I need help please

My car started rough the other day but when I got it out on the hi-way it ran normal all the way home the next morning I tried starting and it wouldn't start. I have pulled the plugs and felt and smelled fuel on them and checked for spark on each sparkplug and they had good lighting spark. A guy said 100% sure if I unhook my MAF the car should at least run a little so I unhooked it and it acted the same. I smell gas so it cant be the fuel pump or fuel filter because my plugs are wet and I checked for spark and they have good spark. So does anyone agree on replacing the MAF to get her back on the road?? I replaced the coils. The fuel is there and the gas is there I'm confused why she wont run?? Will a car not run with a bad MAF and if it was the MAF would it throw a code because I checked that and there was no codes in the computer that says anything'* wrong. I called a shop and they quoted me to replace the fuel pump for $500. It almost cant be because I smell gas and my plugs are wet?? I'm confused. I just wish I knew if it was 100% the MAF. A guy told me to unplug the MAF Harness and the car will run so I did and nothing changed. I might give the MAF a try unless someone else has a better solution to my problem which I pray you do. PLease, if not I might give the MAF a try before I take it in. Would someone confirm with me if I smell gas that its not the fuel pump or filter. I also put in Fuel injector cleaner in last week to hope to clean the fuel injectors up/ Can someone confirm that my next move on the MAF is the right one and the bad fuel Pump is not it?? I need confirmation and help Please.. I'm begging for your knowledge.

I double checked with a mechanic and he said that it could keep the car from running but when I unplug the MAF it should start but stumble but it will start could a fuel pressure regulator be flooding it out and keep it from running??

Check the fuel pressure reglator by removing the vacuum hose and smelling the hose for gasoline. If you smell gas in the FPR hose, replace the FPR.

Just because you smell gas does not mean you have sufficient fuel pressure. Purchase, rent, or borrow a fuel pressure gage and check to see what the fuel pressure is. This will tell you if you need a new fuel pump or not.

It would also help to know which car you are talking about.

Here is a video to help test your FPR, it is really easy to do, fast forward to 1:50 and give it a watch.

what does your air filter look like ? while on the subject, see if the car will start by squirting something like throttle body cleaner in the TB.

There are many different types of EFI systems out there, so, you really do need to post what vehicle you're having problems with.
What kind, and how much injector cleaner was added? Some injector cleaners can cause damage to rubber parts if not used properly. I have seen where the rubber that holds the fuel pump has melted from either using the wrong cleaners, or excessive amounts of cleaners. The result was a fuel pump that had very little draw abillity. I imagine the pump would have become totally blocked if it hadn't been replaced. If the fuel filter had not been replaced since new, it might be blocked.
As stated earlier, the fuel pressure needs to verified, before continuing with the search for the cause of the problem.
If the vehicle in question has a timing belt, the compression should be checked as well, because the belt may have slipped, or ?, causing the timing to be off. More times than not, a worn timing belt seems to shows up a start up.
Anyway, please post what the vehicle is, so we know what we're dealing with here.
