Default Sparkplugs

Hi, I have a 1998 Bonneville SSEi with 94,000 miles. I would like to know your opinion on replacing the plugs with original equipment irridium plugs from AC/Delco or another brand like Bosch. Several plug mfgs. are offering rebates at this time. Do I have to stick with irridium or what would anybody recommend?

I use autolite coppers in mine. Pick up a set of those, should be around $2.50 a pair.

Being supercharged you want coppers. Autolites are a good option.

Compared to copper and iridium, platinum doesn't dissipate heat well enough to be used in boosted engines.

People say copper is best for SC engines, but bear in mind that it'* a relatively soft metal, so the plug usually lasts only 30,000 miles or so. (Iridiums last up to 100,000 miles.)

Just avoid anything platinum and anything Bosch (they aren't designed for waste-spark engines like ours) and you'll be fine.
