Default 2002 Pontiac Grand prix - laurching

My 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix is doing weird things like lurching and down shifting weird - even at a stand still at a traffic light. Any ideas?

Check your motor mounts.

I know the upper ones need replacing but someone told me the trans selenoid might be the problem too.

Have the car scanned. Several trans codes don't trip a light. Try rocking the car back and forth and watch the mounts.

Lurching and odd behavior can also be caused by MAF and TPS sensors. Try and take a look for codes, and scan those sensors to see if all looks well.

Double check your trans fluid color and proper level.
