Looking for recommendations as to which brand CV shafts you all prefer.
I am pretty sure both of mine are going bad on the 2006' Grand Prix, even if it was just one I'd rather replace each side anyway.

My choices are mainly between Cardone Select, and Empire.
I am thinking CARDONE SELECT 661255 for the left, it says supplied w/Standard Neoprene Outboard Boot.. $49.79

CARDONE SELECT 661256 Includes Retaining Clip - For the right side. 52.79

I see a CARDONE SELECT 661255HD for the left side, it says "Optional Heavy Duty Thermoplastic Outboard Boot"
The thing is I do not see an HD version for the right side, sounds like it has a better boot...
I want to put whatever is considered the best on there, because I want it to last..


Also a question, if I can slip the old one out without disconnecting the outer tie rod, I shouldn't need an alignment right?
Or would getting one be better safe that sorry?

Hmmm, I found a right side one fort Casrdone Select that was not listed at RA.
CARDONE SELECT 66-1250 Sounds like it it the proper right side replacement if one gets CARDONE SELECT 661255 for the left.

I prefer rebuilt OEM CV shafts over new CV shafts. Cardone offers both. I have no justification, but my gut says the OEM shafts were manufactured with tighter tolerances. I have no proof or study to back up my gut.

I found a TSB, it may not be my CV Axles after all, I have heard the click on low speed acceleration, and deceleration..

I'll have to check the CV Axles ASAP, and if they seem fine then it has to be that coupling..
I'll have to check my FSM and see how hard it is to replace the coupling.

I always stick with Moog for stuff like that.

I looked for Moog but RockAuto did not have that brand listed.
I'll check somewhere else, in case it is not what I mentioned above, and I really need them.
