Default old 4t65e transmission question

My brother has a 1997 bonneville and my dad has a 97 le sabre. Both transmissions in these cars have a stamped steel side cover instead of aluminium and a cork gasket. Are these early 4t65es or 4t60es? Just wondering.

The difference between a 4T65E and a 4T60E, visually is, the 60 had an external modulator valve, 65 didn't......also the harness to the tranny was frontward(60), while it came out sidewards on a 65.....

If I remember right, the 60 had a cork gasket for the side cover, while the 65 had a reuseable rubber gasket....
