if you can get some help its easiest to take the trans inspection cover off and have them brace the flywheel against the trans with a big prybar or screwdriver

Final update for those who may have this issue. It was the MAP sensor. Also many many sensors CAN be tested using a simple multi function tester. Throttle position is a basic potentiometer. The map sensor is a vacuum operated variable voltage. Crank sensor is a hall effect sensor etc, so once you understand what the sensor does and how it works you can test them with a simple voltmeter. You will need to know what range the sensor operates in as well. Thanks for all that replied.
