here'* what you need to change.
harmonic balancer
ICM bracket and tensioner
#9 pulley
Heads
Lower intake manifold
supercharger
injectors
fuel rails
throttle body
a bit a wiring for boost control
and a tune on the PCM

Yes, a SC engine is 8.5:1 compression and a NA engine is 9.5:1 compression. Yes, it can handle it. I'm running a L26 short block with a L67 top end. You need to be able to tune as the timing will be different. And you will likely want to run a 4.0" pulley instead of the stock 3.8" to lower the boost. Seeing how this is a 96 it makes it a bit harder to tune. But DHP makes software that will tune that year. HPT is also tuning software, that'* what I use. But that'* 97+ Billboost has DHP.
