Default 2000 Pontiac Bonneville V6-3.8, engine locked

Hello everyone,

I drove my car to work on Thursday night, come home Friday morning on this last labor day weekend. Parked it, used my other vehicle for the holiday weekend, went to go back to work Tuesday night and it would not start. It sounded like a battery issue, so I charged it on slow for 8 hrs., tested it, it was 100%, installed it. No go. So probably the starter. Replaced it and the same. The starter wants to engage but will not turn over. I put the 1" socket and breaker to the crank and it would not go forward as the motor usually turns. So I reversed the moter probably 1 turn, hit the key and it started for 1 second till it stopped with a screech, locked form going forward. I took the serpentine belt off to check the AC pulley and it'* free. The car had run great, every time something looked to be going wrong, I put it in. No oil in Radiator, no anti-freeze in the oil. Cannot understand it run perfect, parked it for 4 days and this.

Any opinions? Torque Converter?

Thanks!

I suspect the lower intake manifold gasket has failed and the engine is hydrolocked with coolant. Try pulling the plugs and turning the engine over. When it previously sat overnight between operating the smaller amounts of coolant were insufficient to lock the engine and just burned off. After sitting for four days enough coolant gathered to lock the engine.

I agree, pull all the plugs and use the starter to turn the engine over. Check your coolant level too!

A suggestion so nice, I shall share it thrice!

I agree, pull plugs, then hand crank over. You will either shed coolant, or it still wont turn. You'll want to be hoping for the former, because the latter can get downright expensive.

It'* possible that 4 days of leaking happened to finish it off, but I believe that this was likely the first day of a catastrophic failure. Usually if it'* going to leak bad like that, it'* with pressure in the cooling system. Then it blows, and no more goes, whether it'* sitting for 20 minutes, or 20 days.
