Default 99 ponitac bonneville steering column

Ive got a 99 boneville column thats broke and it appears to be an aluminum bracket with 2 bolts and the bracket has broke. It split between the bolt holes spliting them each in half. I have it down to the joint and dont know how it splits to bring the inside half out or how hard it is. Got dark and had to quit. I cant tell what the part is from any diagram i can find on line. Any help would be great. Thanks

I thinnk the mechanic and the dealership pulled on the steering wheel and broke the bracket. There are 2 brackets and this one is the lower one that holds it up in place for the other bracket to hold the top with 2 triangle shaped brackets that slike into slots to hold the top but without the lower bracket it wont stay up in place. There is a rubber boot looks like that covers the joint where I suspect it comes apart perhaps with a roll pin maybe. Just guessing! Im limited on time here to get it fixed. Car has 300,000 miles on it. Trying to milk it for a while longer till its new car time and the money is there for what ever we want.
