Default engines =refitting??

I have a 1996 sunfire-has a 2.2 liter engine. will it fit & work in my other 1994 Grand am -having a 2.3 liter doch bad engine?? Both cars are standard tranys. will I have to xfer any wiring? like from ecm & (ECM?) to complete engine harness?

its not real likely. gm went to obd2 on all vehicles in 96 and that includes alot of sensors, pcm etc. will the old sensors fit in the newer engine i am not sure you would have to find someone who tried it, which seems unlikely people who are mechanics would just get the right year replacement, because its much easier

I agree, find one that was originally put in. It will be much easier in the long run.

I agree, I wouldn't even try. The 2.3 is the old "quad 4" engine and it'* completely different then the 2.2 so not only will wiring and engine management systems not match but things like engine mounts and belt drive accessories will be different.
