I've never run any additives in the oil, nor did I even wipe the valley with a rag. It'* looked like that all 3 times I've been into it that far.
The first 60k on the ticker was some kind of dino-oil. Since then (last 50k) I've run Mobil1 with a K&N filter for 5k miles each change.
The car will start this time with generic NAPA oil and a NAPA filter, but only for 100 miles or so. I have the M1 and K&N ready for that change. I'll flush the coolant at the same time.

You're killing me, Bill! Custom pushrods, no less...
But very nice looking!
I'll also comment on how nice and clean the valley and block look. I've been using M1 now in the Bonneville for about 20,000 miles, so hopefully, mine will look that good when I open 'er up.
Loving all the info and pics on this build...

A few random pics from last night and today. Most should be self-explanatory.
I'm a bit farther than these pics show. Doing ok with the multi-tasking.

Until today, I'd only rebuilt and coated the nosedrive. This is the new SC housing and rotors baking. I ported and polished first, then coated and baked.
