Gatorback?
Would it me worth it to dump my regular supercharger belt for a gatorback one? I see everyone posting about them and intense actually vends them so I guess they actually make a difference?

put more belt wrap around your SC pulley...
Supercharger Tensioner Pulley

There are three basic advantages to this larger tensioner pulley. First, you can run a stock supercharger belt with a 3.20" or 3.40" supercharger pulley on your M90. Second, you can increase belt tension on whatever pulley and belt combination you run. And third, you will effectively increase your supercharger belt'* 'wrap' around the supercharger pulley, helping to eliminate belt slippage.

I had problems with Gates squeaking and slipping. Gatorbacks never do, but I have a totally different belt path than a S2 (and modified from stock with an extra idler now too).

I have ran Dayco belts and have never been happier. I ran napa gates belts on both series 1 and 2 and felt "please don't give me the mental comment" more power across the band from my cars.

I've had both, I've never had any major problems with either (with the exception of a chirp from the belt on the 1-2 shift with both belts.) The Gates belt seems to build up rubber deposits on my pulley all the time & just make some funny noises. But if I could recommend one I would say to go with the GoodYear belt.

I've only run one Gatorback belt. That'* the one on my 99. I installed it at 77K, and I'm at 168K...so it'* been on for ~ 91K miles. Still in great condition.
However, I hate the fact that it'* so noisy. It whistles very badly and is ANNOYING. Thankfully, the noise drowns out at highway speeds, but in the city (especially with the windows down) it'* just irritating. I'm too cheap to swap out a perfectly good belt, so when it finally breaks or gets worn, I'll put in a Gates belt. IMO, Gates belts are GREAT.

Funny how the respond on different cars. My gatorbacks are very quiet on both cars. Gates squeak horribly and build rubber up in the grooves of my supercharger pulleys.
