Default Turbo?

Sorry if this is old news. I saw mention of a turbo kit for GPs in High Performance Pontiac magazine, from 3800Performance.com. Kind of pricey, but cool.

$3000 American isn't too bad.....

I'm spending $3000 Cdn on my turbo for the 91.... and it'* all pretty much custom.... my turbo will (hopefully) work fine..... but their turbo has been tuned and tested and you know it'll work. A lot of my money is spent on labor for the custom parts.... at least with theirs it'* all spent on product that'* been tested.

That'* the kit from Cartuning, which is owned by Kevin Margitta in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

One of the items that really distinguishes this kit is the PCM that comes with it. Kevin has been part of Digital Horsepower (DHP) from the beginning and supplies a fully optimised PCM for his turbo application.

There are 4 turbo cars in my local club (OQCGP) including 2 Grand Prixs that were done last week, a 2004 GTP Comp G and a 2001GT. Both reported the kit is a complete bolt in and is professional from start to finish. This is also the same kit that Charles Beyer (DHP) has in his 04 with the intercooler. After a short dyno run, and before his 6 hour return drive, they hit 401 WHP and called it a day with still very rich O2 readings.

There'* going to be some crazy fast turbo cars arouns this summer

Cheers,

401 whp? That'* sweet. Any idea what RPM that was at? What about torque?

I wonder what would happen if you bolted one up to the front of an SC? (I know you're supposed to remove the blower if you want to add one of these to your engine, but just imagine if you could have both...)

I've been eyeing the the Cartuning turbo for a while. The only thing holding me back from buying it is the downpipe section. It would be easy enough to get the manifolds hooked up(it'* made for a W-body so they might not line up 100%), but the way the downpipe runs makes me wonder if it will clear everything.
I'd prefer to buy a kit that is designed to bolt up, 3000$ is a lot to spend on something you'll have to modify to make work. :?

Could this bolt to a stock Grand Prix with no modifications? Would a new 180/160 thermo be good enough?

But will it run perfect? Say the car is in really good running condition. Will this turbo kit arise any problems on a stock car? Any preps need to be made?
