Default Knight Fire Scan Results

Hey all,

Just got in from scanning Knight Fire.... big thanks to Pontiac735 for his scan tool, and time.... couldn't have done it without him.

So here'* the results....
Knightfire.xls (in Excel Format)
Knightfire.csv (in CSV Format)
(Right-Click, Save Target As...)

I'm not sure what to make of everything....
We scanned KR, A/F, O2B1S1, MAFF, RPM, VSS & TPSV.

Here'* the short version......

-I only had KR above 88mph (that magic Back to the Future speed).... it peaked at 4.3KR @ 95mph running 5878rpm.
-My A/F was a steady 14.7 until I gave her gas.... then it dropped to 10.8.... it went down as low as 10.3 @ 108mph. I'm not sure if that means anything.
-While my throttle was at WOT, my TPS read 4.22 pretty constant.... is that normal?
-MAFF peaked at around 10485, while at 5878rpm.

Anyone care to make heads or tails of this data?

Too much air not enough fuel.
Look at cells 179, you were about 1/3 into the pedal and you were at stoich air.fuel and good maf frequency with no Kr.
At cell 180 your half into the pedal the air/fuel ratio drops off and maf skyrockets.
By cell 181 your at full throttle but it takes approx 8 sec of this condition before you start to see Kr.
With a mini afc try and tune it to @12.8 air fuel ratio at wot.

Not sure what to make out with the O2 sensor (O2B1S1), seems to be all over the place with no real ryme or reason?

At idle the o2 should read high low high low...or constant flutuations. Not sure what it should do when it'* at WOT....but I'd assume it should be reading plenty of excess fuel due to the WOT. Looking at cell 196 and on...it shows that you took your foot off the pedal or there was a problem. 203 to 207 are odd...why did it go down to 4 and hang there when you let off.

Looks perfectly normal to me. The KR is torque management where the car is pulling timing before during and slighly after the shift.

Next time also log timing, and injector pulse widths.

Well if it'* normal.... how come the car is performing so poorly at the track.
If it wasn't for my better 60ft times.... I'd be slower by more then 1/2 a second.
Could there be something transmission related?

Sounds about like me. My air fuel ratio is 10.3@ 5500 rpm. Isn't the lower the number the more gas being used?

Yeah, it looks good. Fuel is about where I would leave it for a daily driver. A little on the rich side but just about right for trying to kill KR. The KR does appear to be tq. management as it is at the shift and seems to go down afterwards. Next time, if possible because I know those are some fairly high speeds, see if it keeps giving you KR or if it goes away after the shift. I'd be willing to bet it goes away. All the readings look normal other than that, so it seems like the problem is elsewhere. Do you still have the stock PCM?

You need to scan the track runs to be sure. Could have been an intermittent thing, could have been bad gas, could have been a lot of things. The only way to know whats going on with the car is to scan it.
