Boost and a L27?
How much boost can L27 handle? Has anyone tried to boost a L27 with either a supercharger or turbo before? I'm thinking about making a turbo for a L27 bonneville. And yes I know about a L67 swap but I like the L27 power band and would love to see how it reacts to a turbo.

, but I don't know how strong the internals are to handle an excessive amount.
Believe me the last thing I want to do is blow up the motor . My father would never forgive me . How much compression does a L27 have? I tried to goole it but didn't find the numbers. I know that the L27 went up in compression in 1993 but how much I haven't found out yet.

It'* been 8.5:1 the whole run. No change in compression.
8.5:1 compression ratio
dished pistons
forged crank
shot peened rods. (l67 has forged rods & pistons afawk)
Nearly all engines in good shape can take 5/6 or so PSI with very little tuning.

When did the forged crank come about? Do we know the rods are shot-peened? Have we gotten any new news on the pistons that says they're forged?
You need to start inviting me to these BonneMeMN meetings :P

Roller rocker arms, a higher compression ratio, and reduced piston ring tension improved efficiency in 1993.

Now the 3.0 and later 3300 Buick V6'* did use 9.0 to 1 compression... The only change in compression for the 3800 was with the Vin K engine to 9.4 to 1...<---- That they got correct...
I have seen a few sites that have flawed info...
